Our direct fiber connection to the Westin Building allows us to provision direct circuits to the over 200 carriers in the Westin Building, making them just a cross-connect away in our Tacoma colocation center.

In addition, if your business requires direct connectivity from your location to the Westin Building, our agreements with Click and Qwest allow us to provision end to end circuits at nearly 1/3 the cost of Qwest or other carriers!

  POWER

    Tacoma Power is the recipient of many national and international awards and recognition for one of the most stable grids in the nation. By locating in central downtown Tacoma between the Frank Russell Company, Labor Ready and Columbia Bank, Optic Fusion is on the most stable power grid in the city of Tacoma. The continuous, conditioned power is backed by an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) with an automatic onsite diesel generator, dual fuel tanks, and priority emergency refueling contracts. A comprehensive DC power plant provides DC power with a 2+hour battery plant.

  •   HVAC AND ENVIRONMENT CONTROLS

      Optic Fusion uses a forced-air design for massive air handling besides chilling, as designed by McKinstry for Exodus and other colocation centers. Multiple 20-ton units on neighboring rooftop are powered by our generator-backed power feed. The environment is also monitored electronically in our 24x7 Network Operations Center to assure inside temperatures are kept between 68-70 (+/-2) degrees Fahrenheit and humidity is maintained at 45% (+/- 5%).

  •   SECURITY AND ACCESS

      Security is provided by continuous video surveillance and recording, access is controlled and recorded through a card key system, and everything is monitored by on-site personnel in our 24x7 Network Operations Center (NOC). As the sole tenant of the 4th floor, we have prior warning to anyone approaching our offices or center. Our unique four-entry point system is a combination of card readers, cameras, 24x7 staffing and personnel ID checks which makes our facility very difficult to penetrate. All customers receive their own card key for 24x7 access, and our NOC staff will provide any special access for staff and vendors required to support customer emergencies.

  •   FIRE DETECTION AND SUPPRESSION

      Zoned ionized air sampling provides the earliest possible level of fire detection. This allows our 24x7 staff to respond immediately with personal operated gas-based fire suppression. Later stage fire suppression is provided by a dry pipe, pre-action system, with heads that are zoned and independent of the other heads.

  •   ON-SITE SUPPORT

      Our Network Operations Center (NOC) provides 24x7 monitoring and surveillance of our facilities, equipment and the customer colocation area. Technical support can be provided on an as needed basis for customers who require mission critical and after hour's emergency support.

  •   CONNECTIVITY

      Optic Fusion provides Internet connectivity available in metered, burstable, and flat rate packages. Our carrier-neutrality allows you to choose your carrier. AboveNet, Click, Comcast, ELI, & Qwest currently provide connectivity to our building. Additionally, our direct fiber connection to the Westin Building in Seattle allows us to provide direct connectivity to any of the over 200 carriers located there.

  •   ENCLOSURES

      Our facility offers a full variety of enclosures, from open rack space (both 19 and 23 inch), locking and alarmed 45U cabinets (half cabinets also available), and custom caged space.

    The Westin Building's prominence in the region's network connectivity also makes it a prime target for an attack and a single point of failure for many network providers in the region.

    Optic Fusion's Internet connectivity is designed to failover to an alternate path in the event of any problem in the Westin.

      INTERNET CONNECTIVITY

      At our Internet Datacenter, Optic Fusion delivers a carrier-class ISP network. Our network features multiple upstream providers, running BGP4 for redundancy an reliability. Our upstreams are provided on separate loops with separate building entrance points, and terminate on separate gateway routers. Our gateways are connected to two core switches through redundant uplinks, as are our aggregation routers, for the ultimate level of redundancy and reliability.

      Optic Fusion's Internet connectivity is available in packages from 256 Kb/s up to 1000 Mb/s. Our redundant scalable network allows us to provide you any sized bandwidth package and to scale up as you grow. Our Internet connectivity is available in unmetered burstable packages, billed to the 95th percentile. This allows you access to the full bandwidth that you need, while only paying for what you use.

      Optic Fusion provides our Internet customers justifiable IP address space and BGP peerings at no additional charge.

  •   CARRIER NEUTRAL

      In addition to our own Internet connectivity, our carrier-neutrality allows you to choose your carrier. AboveNet, Click, Comcast, ELI, & Qwest currently provide connectivity to our building, and most cross connects are provided at no additional charge with any colocation package.

      Our carrier-neutrality allows you to choose the carrier of your choice for connectivity. Carrier-neutral facilities, in contrast to carrier-specific facilities, offer customers access to a wide choice of carriers.
